Taiwanese EPA et al Training in Canada

CSRO played host to 21 senior executives of the Taiwanese Environmental Protection Agency and two from industry from October 4th to 11th, 2009. The group came to British Columbia to receive International Maritime Organization (IMO) Level III training conducted by instructors from CSRO member companies. The training was judged to be a huge success by all involved.

Included in the educational aspects of the trip were tours and presentations at the Canadian Coastguard base in Richmond, BC; the Marine Communications & Traffic Services control centre in Vancouver, BC and an informative presentation by a senior representative of Environment Canada.

In order to absorb some of Western Canada’s culture and get an appreciation for part of BC’s spectacular 22,898 km long coastline the group travelled by bus and ferry to visit the province’s capital city, Victoria.

The accompanying photograph shows the group and several of the five instructors dedicated to the training project standing at a Canadian Coastguard hovercraft.
